To all who follow this page, thank you. I am not internet literate, so I haven't been as responsive as intelligence would dictate. However, since I can't figure out how to delete this account, and Facebook doesn't support my inquiries, I am formally notifying folks that I will not support or respond to Facebook notifications. I find this relationship questionable, and I'm not comfortable working with this organization. From this point on, I will update folks on my website. If I can figure out how to terminate this account, I will do so. Virtue dictates a different relationship. Thanks to all who have provided positive responses. For those that follow Red River Beef on Facebook. I will be deleting this site as soon as Facebook allows. I find the rule for this website uncompromising and arbitrary. Therefore, I will be establishing a new website to promote a new farming enterprise in Virginia for grassfed beef and sustainable agriculture in Virginia. If you are interested in that enterprise, contact me [email protected]. Otherwise, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for those that followed and provide positive responses. It was much appreciated.

For 2018, we have limited beef available. We will take reservations at redriverbeef.com for future delivery through July 1. No reservations after that. The only exception will be ground beef which less predictable and on a first come first served basis. We are a smaller operation now, so accept our apologies if we can't meet your needs. Beef Availability for 2017. Since I'm not a Facebook expert, you don't get much here. For 2017, Red River Beef has downsized and will have less beef than in the past. We expect 20 quarters for 2017. We are taking reservations at redriverbeef.com now. In addition, we have ground beef for sale at $7.50 per pound. However, due to an order not being honored, we are selling that ground beef for $5.50 per pound while it last. Due to the sale price, we can't honor our policy of free delivery for orders of 50 pounds or larger - a delivery fee of $50 will be applied. Of course your always welcome at the ranch to pick up your ground beef.

Breeders in the heartland are bringing a change to the beef industry, with grass-fed cattle that takes longer to mature but lacks added chemicals and hormones.

The Agriculture Department said the cost of beef would increase the most, up to 5 percent, because of the weather and rising costs for animal feed.

I don't know that I agree with all that is written in this article. But the issue of concentrated processing is a real problem for us who are trying to provide a different product to the food consumer. This one side of the story.

Just think. Even the NY Times understands the benefits of grass fed beef. We knew it all the time.

There are good reasons ground meat shows up in traditional recipes the world over, and it deserves a respected place at our collective table.

While we are still figuring out how it works Red River Beef has established a page on facebook. As for why we did, it’s always been our policy and desire to have our customers and friends communicate their preferences; whatever they may be. We hope a page will help with that.
