The Slouch Hat symbolizes our w**ery and our philosophy.

A Slouch Hat is a wide-brimmed hat built for hard work. The harder you work in it, the more the sun and sweat beat down the brim. And when the brim begins to slouch, it’s time to slouch back with a nice glass of w**e.

That’s the whole idea behind Slouch Hat Wines: recognizing we all work hard at whatever we do and we deserve those moments of relaxation to recharge and reward ourselves.

One year ago today I surprised Rachel at our wedding with a special Sauvignon Blanc, Rachel’s Reserve, bottled from her favorite barrel. Rachel’s Reserve is finally available to the public only at the Tasting Outpost and online. Unsurprisingly, it instantly became the best selling white w**e. 33 cases produced. Cheers! 9/13/25

Slouch Hat has received new followers since opening the Tasting Outpost in Rogers, so allow me to reintroduce myself:

I’m Matt- owner/w**emaker of Slouch Hat. I was born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas. A town in one of Arkansas’s many dry counties. I didn’t discover w**e until my time stationed in Quantico, Virginia with the Marine Corps. However, once I made that discovery, my life trajectory completely changed.

I fell in love with escaping to the vineyards on the weekends. The serenity I found is what opened the door for to me learn all I could about w**e. My plan since I was little was always military then law school. After the Marine Corps, I deferred my admission to law school and went to work at a w**ery for a year. I never made it to law school but I did found Slouch Hat in 2022.

Arkansas has always been and always will be home. Although my w**es are grown and produced in the Santa Ynez Valley (~30 min north of Santa Barbara), I live in Rogers with my wife, two cats, and our dog.

My mission since starting Slouch Hat is to bring the serenity of the vineyard to wherever you open a bottle. With the Tasting Outpost now open in Rogers that mission is being fully lived out.

I lead all tastings personally, so I look forward to hosting you soon!
