There’s a different kind of heartbreak autism parents carry.
Seeing your child sick… but they can’t tell you what’s wrong.
You watch them cry, scream, withdraw or just lie there… and you’re left guessing.
Is it a headache? A tummy ache? Are they scared? Are they in pain?
You feel helpless.
In those moments, it feels like you have a baby in a 9 or 12 year old body… because they can’t communicate their pain or needs.
And all you can do is hold them, comfort them, and pray you understand their cries correctly.
Autism teaches you a different kind of parenting… one where love speaks louder than words.
