just taking it a little at a time. 🍂 We’ve lived in this historic home, the Green Acres Historic Farmhouse, for 11 years. When we first moved in it had sat empty for a couple years and had been in foreclosure. We later learned it was going to be torn down and made into a parking lot for a business that was buying the property next door. What memories we would have missed! Our back porch overlooks a valley and we’ve got bird feeders and have had several different types of gardens back there too. It’s been a beautiful place to raise a family and I’m so grateful for our little space in this world. What’s your dream?

My aunt Emma is the queen of ferns. 🌿 When she taught school for 27 years at Mark Twain Elementary, she took her summer porch ferns up there to school and they’d put them in the school foyer and she said she’d send kids down there every day with a sq**rt gun or …. {read more}

I learned so much from my Dad. 🤍 He did NOT agree with the red kitchen though 🫠🍄 I told him if it didn’t work I’d paint it back. The family who moved in loved it and it made me so happy to see them happy! It’s hard not to know what to say to people but one thing quiet people do is observe - and I really love to see what brings people joy. Thank y’all so much for walking this path with us all these years. It feels overwhelming sometimes to think about how good everyone has been to us and how supportive. Grandpa started the first version of this business and campground in the 1940’s, and his parents had a bed and breakfast on the farm before that. This is my 17th year back on the farm and I’m so grateful to know, Lord willing, we will still be here loving y’all for many years to come. - Michele

49 is the hardest age I’ve ever been 🤍 maybe it’s because my own kids are getting older. My son is a senior in high school, my babies are 9 & 10, and my oldest is about to turn 21. Also, we lose so many people we love in our childhood. Grandparents, parents, aunts and friends. It just really hits home that life is so precious and these moments are so important to help those around us feel seen and loved. 🤍
