The lore of Blucifer is something that is celebrated, for whatever reason the combination of a blue stallion with red eyes works well. Blucifer welcomes those of us who live here home from trips, while simultaneously greeting folks who are coming to visit this beautiful place in. Our favorite demon horse inspired us to take make a bit of a bold beer.

Blucifer is our Blueberry Basil Kettle sour. We use a hefty amount of white wheat to create a dry, yet filling body to build off of. One of our favorite lacto blends sours our beer over a few days. Our farmhouse yeast strain really dries this beer out, to keep the next one forever on the mind. We then add 100lbs of blueberries and 1lb of basil per barrel to finish the beer. This fruit bomb has a bright herbal aroma that makes for a perfectly refreshing spring beer. We can only hope that this Blucifer doesn’t seek the same sort of vengeance on the creator.

What would Cinco De Mayo be without a little winter storm. Our Mexican style lager is pouring just in time! Same As It Ever Was is our Mexican style lager. This beer is made with a bit of heirloom corn, Pilsner malts that provide a touch of malty sweetness. Moutueka hops provide a zesty hop bitterness with undertones of lime zest. This refreshing beer pairs well with snowstorms, hikes, Avs games, bike rides, and elote bowls.

Cool crisp mornings are finally upon us. In the high country we tend to wake up early to go to beautifully religious experiences, be it sitting in traffic on I-70, finding head stashes on our favorite runs, or putting in the work cutting uphill trails. After a hard days work we all tend to Sleep in the Pews.

Sleeping in the Pews is our Belgian style dark strong, monks inspire these sorts of beers, but as mere mortals we can only do our best to pay homage to them. Malt complexity paired with yeast undertones create a beer layered in flavors. Chocolate notes pair with raisin and plum aromatics resulting in a delicious balancing act that only Belgian beer can accomplish. This beer is a great winter warmer, one that will have us all sleeping in the pews after a long day of recreation.

Certain combinations just happen to come together to create such beautiful moments in time. One of those blink and miss it type scenarios. All of the pieces fall into place in a synergistic way to create a wonderfully nuanced experience, one that is forever fleeting. Poetry in Motion, is one of our passion projects.

Poetry in Motion, is a rustic saison made using brettanomyces that we then refermented on Cabernet Franc skins. Brettanomyces is a slow moving yeast that takes ages to express itself. The combination of rustic grains, wild yeast, and grape skins creates a delicate balance in one of our favorite beers. Poetry in Motion is a dry, complex, tannic, barn yardy, and spritzy saison that comes together to create a beer worth singing about “tra la la la la”
