We are supposed to get hit with multiple inches of snow overnight. We get to skip the lines at the store when other people stock up on milk and eggs.

Our meat chickens are growing quickly! Week 3 we reflected on why we keep buying these “little idiots” every year.

A few days late, but this is what we will have for May!

🌱Asparagus is slowing down at this point, so we have very limited quantities available.
🍓Strawberries are NOT ready today. We have tons of blossoms right now. They typically start ripening in the middle of May and are done by the end of June. We will make another post when they are ready for harvest.
🌱We have an insane amount of rhubarb from our small patch. 1 pound is about 10 stalks (roughly 3 cups chopped).
🪴If you are wanting your own gooseberry or raspberry plant, please give us 24 hours notice to put it in a pot for you.
🥚🍳 We cannot keep up with eggs! We are doing our best to meet your needs. Clearly we need another chicken coop and 30 more chickens. Please reach out via text to see if we have any in stock.

We are trying something new to communicate what we currently have in stock for the season!

We are still teaming up with our neighbor to provide eggs to all. Sadly one of the recent storms took out their chicken coop (no birds harmed!), and the shock has paused their laying. For those who preordered garden starts, they are looking great and we will be hardening them off over the next few weeks. We are more than happy to dig up some raspberries or gooseberries for you to transplant to your own homes.

Happy growing ❤️🌱

Have you ever cracked an egg open and wondered what that weird thing is in your egg? We considered the 5 most common “weird egg” things we encountered over the years. Some of them can cause the knee-jerk reaction to think you’re consuming a baby chick or even a parasite, but chances are it’s just an egg oddity that happens due to the natural process. Sometimes these weird eggs should be reported to your farmer, but most of the time they are just a result of farm fresh eggs. Use your judgment based on the frequency it is happening. We always appreciate feedback to help us maintain our farm and provide the community with quality food.

We would like to offer seedlings this year for you to kick off your own garden. These plants will be ready for you to pick up the first weekend of May and will be ready to plant when the danger of frost is gone (predicted May3rd this year for our local area). There may be a few plants you’re looking for that we’re not offering as seedlings (hello pumpkins, green beans, carrots🧐), and that is because those seeds are planted directly outside in the spring. If you are new to growing food, we suggest you start small. Don’t have a lot of space? Many of these food producers do amazing in pots. Need help with planning a garden? We can help with that too. Please reach out if you would like to place an order for garden starts by March 10, 2025.
