We hatched some Pekin ducks for some friends last week. They were super cute and tough to give up, but we may just have to hatch some eggs for ourselves.

These are probably the last four pigs we are sending to butcher for a long time, as we are getting out of pigs and moving on to other things. So if you enjoy our pork products, make sure place your orders when we get them back in a couple weeks. We will have a post with availability when we get them back.

Loaded up the incubator today for some friends and family. They will be hatching in about three weeks We have been raising Black Australorps for the last 3 or 4 years and are very happy with this breed.

This breed holds the world record for most eggs laid in a year. The incredible hen that achieved this laid 364 eggs in 365 days!

If you are interested in chicks please pm us. There may be some left over from this hatch, and if not we can throw another batch in after these.

Today we say our final goodbyes to our best buck, Sebastian. This boy was always so kind and gentle with his ladies and us. He would follow me around like a puppy as I repaired the fencing he and his herd broke through, and loved attention and getting pet. We even had a design from this picture for our next t-shirts. We lost him during the long subzero temperatures, unfortunately. We have one doe that is pregnant with his offspring and look forward to greeting them into this world shortly. RIP big fella.

Cold enough out there to freeze and crack our only 4 eggs for the day. 🥶
