Patchwork Microgreens History
My name is Patrick Rose, owner of Patchwork Microgreens previously located in Edenton, N.C. and now located in Roper, N.C. I am a retired US Military serviceman with 6 years in the US Army and 15 years in the US Coast Guard.
Patchwork Microgreens gets its name sake from a family drawing of company names. There was a total of 6 names put in the pot and Patchwork Microgreens came out the winner. Although all the names fit the type of business, I am very happy to have had this one picked. If you ever see a microgreens growing operation you would understand Patchwork.
Patchwork Microgreens has been in business since March 2016. The business name was registered in Chowan county in September 2017. We have had numerous customers from Virginia Beach Farmers Market to the Outer Banks and of course local restaurants in Edenton and Hertford area. The Table Restaurant located at the Inner Banks Inn in Edenton was our first customer and remains a customer today.
Business growth is happening and so is the product selection. While focusing primarily on microgreens we have started experimenting with float tables for hydroponic baby greens as well as full grown heads of lettuce. While not ready to market these new products, they are doing well and will be ready to market by the end of summer. The plan is to have these items available year-round vice just the cooler months, that leafy greens prefer. Tomatoes and Hot Peppers are the seasonal products that are offered starting around mid to late June. These are also in the planning for year-round production, however on a smaller scale than the leafy greens.
