😼 MEET THE FARM SUPERVISOR: WAFFLES 😼

While we are busy harvesting, our resident farm cat, Waffles, has taken it upon himself to handle security.

His favorite vantage point? Perched right on top of our tall deer fence, keeping a very close eye on the fields (and probably scouting out local field mice).

Every great flower farm needs an official field supervisor, and we think Waffles fits the bill perfectly.

As flower farmers, fall is the time we look back at our field data and decide what stays and what goes for next season.

After much thought, we have made the official decision: we will not be growing this variety again next year!While we have loved having its unique beauty in our fields, it's time to retire it to make room for some exciting new varieties we can't wait to test out.

Those crisp autumn mornings are officially here, and the cooler weather is telling our dahlias it's almost time to sleep for the winter. Production is slowing down out in the fields, but we aren't done just yet!

✨ FLOWER SPOTLIGHT: THE AMAZING GOMPHRENA ✨

If you have picked up one of our harvest bouquets recently, you might have noticed some quirky, bright little spheres peeking out between the larger blooms.

Meet Gomphrena (also known as Globe Amaranth)!

These charming, globe-shaped flowers look exactly like colorful little gumdrops growing on stems, and they are one of our absolute favorite ingredients for late-season arrangements.

✨ FLOWER SPOTLIGHT: MEET AGERATUM ✨

We have been busy showing you our big, beautiful harvest bouquets, but today we wanted to take a moment to tell you about one of our design secrets: Ageratum (also affectionately known as Flossflower)!

While sunflowers and dahlias usually steal the spotlight, tall cut-flower ageratum varieties like Ageratum Blue Horizon are the unsung heroes of our arrangements all season.

Here is why we are totally obsessed with growing it:

Dreamy Texture: It produces dense, fuzzy, cloud-like clusters of blossoms that add an incredible soft, romantic texture to a vase.

True Blue Tones: Rare, cool-toned shades are hard to find in nature, but ageratum delivers gorgeous, long-lasting lavender and blue hues that perfectly balance out bold autumn golds and oranges.

Pollinator Magnet: Out in our fields, these unique blooms act like absolute magnets for local bees and butterflies!

Keep an eye out for these unique, fluffy purple-blue clusters tucked into this week’s batch of bouquets at Main Street Meat Co. in Roscoe!

🌱 NO FLOWER WASTED: FROM SEED TO SOIL 🌱

Ever wonder what happens to the blooms that don't make it into a market bouquet? Around here, absolutely nothing goes to waste!While it can be tough to see beautiful late-season flowers fade, we view it as a beautiful full-circle moment.

These flowers are going right into our compost bins, where they will break down over the winter into rich, nutrient-dense soil. Next spring, that very same compost will nourish a brand-new generation of vibrant blooms! 🌻♻️
