I have decided to close the little farm store as well as to end scheduled tours of our homestead.

Many things have led me to this decision, the latest is a recent death in our family and the need for this grandmother to focus on family more than ever.

Before the year ends we will welcome our 22nd grandchild into this world! We feel so blessed.

We have church service twice a month (usually the 2nd & 4th Sundays at 10am) and you are welcome to attend. Enjoy our simple, come as you are, old fashioned service, followed by our carry-in/pot-luck lunch. It’s like a church picnic every time! I do so love our church family.

As I said, you are welcome to come to church and enjoy the morning with us, sharing in God’s blessings, taking in all the laid back country goodness our little homestead has to offer. But I simply can no longer spread myself so thin, doing so many things to run a farm store, farm tours and have lengthy visits with so many that stop by everyday. I must focus on our family and faith.

Turning my attention to gardening and quiet thoughts on such a beautiful morning.

Or if you’ve just stopped by, we do love sharing “the old pioneer ways” and will visit with you when we can.

We’ve had several issues lately that have caused me to really rethink how things are working.
Such as people driving to the little store way too fast. Drive carefully, children playing signs are posted and seemingly ignored by many.

Pets… that’s another issue. A big issue. Dogs mostly. Yes we have pets and we love them just like you do but…. We also have grandchildren. 20 grandchildren. One of which had a bad experience with someone’s dog recently. Everything ended without much physical harm but emotionally, it was really scary and it could have been an entirely different story. I won’t take that chance again. We’ve all heard people say, just as they did, “my dog is very gentle, wouldn’t hurt a fly, doesn’t bite, etc…”

That was the icing on my cake. Our children and our grandchildren are more important to us than anything. Their safety is our priority.
Getting back to family and simplifying life at our homestead.
