I do not particularly like the format of business pages on FB. Thus the reason this business page is lacking compared to my instagram or my own personal FB, so I made a new profile specifically for my goat friends! Please add me as a friend! SSD Homestead is the profile name

It’s confirmed! Camanna HS Bellrose Sapphire VEVE 90 is coming to our herd on Tuesday. I am so excited to have this beautiful girl come to our herd and bring a new mix of Camanna into the group. I have her grandson as one of my bucks and this fall I will be breeding her to Gentry so we can mix the blueberry line with her and see what we get! ❤️

Our Story..

The decision to open a rural homestead was not a decision I made quickly. When I was a little girl around 6 years old we lived on a farm we rented for about a year. In that year we had hundreds of birds which included many breeds of ducks, turkey, geese, swan and a few others. Living on that farm for that short time period was the best year of my life! My entire adult life I have wanted to give the same to my own kids but we never seem to get out of the “city” life. When I heard that you CAN have select farm animals within city limits as long as you follow the right restrictions, register and pay certain fees I was so excited because I knew it was possible. It took us many months to start our homestead. We had to make a lot of adjustments in our yard in order to keep the new animals safe from our dogs. We have an Alaskan Malamute/German Shepherd mix with Timber wolf bred into her lineage so naturally she desires to kill all the animals we have brought into our new little rural farm. It is my determination to never let that happen while also making sure each animal is happy and healthy within their given space provided to them.

I have seen a lot of farms that can get really messy really fast, I work hard to make sure that doesn’t happen here. Our goal is to be able to sell the “extras” we have on the farm. We have enough chickens and quail that we know we will have plenty of extra eggs to sell. Everything takes time, so be patience with us please. All the animals are still growing and learning their new roles on the farm. We will post updates as our journey evolves here, stick with us and maybe get some eggs or milk fresh from our home to yours.

Thank you

Kaysie Martin
