🏅 Exciting news from the Southern Oregon Wine Institute!

We're proud to announce that The Winery at UCC earned a Gold Medal for our 2023 Tempranillo and a Bronze Medal for our 2023 Pinot Noir at the 2026 West Coast College & University Wine Festival on June 13.

This was our first time participating in the competition, making the recognition even more meaningful. These award-winning wines were crafted by students in our Viticulture and Enology program, showcasing the talent, dedication, and hands-on learning that define the Southern Oregon Wine Institute.

Congratulations to our students, faculty, staff, and industry partners who helped make this achievement possible!

Thank you Weis Winery for donating your excellent non-oaked Chardonnay to our Wines of North America class. If you are unfamiliar with this brand it hails from the Finger Lakes region of New York. This is an elegant wine that is great for pairing with food or just sitting on the deck with friends. If you haven’t tried any wine from the Finger Lakes region, you should.

In our Wines of North America, we are on Idaho wines. We had the pleasure of tasting the 2025 Chardonnay, and the 2023 Syrah from Clearwater Canyon. If you have the chance you should try them. They are from the Lewis-Clark Ava and they are by far our favorite wines this season. Please check them out. Thank you, Clearwater Canyon.
