It’s Sunday! And September is only two days away. I know I keep thinking it was just yesterday when it became 2026.

We have finished distilling our essential oil but still have clean up to do of the shed. Bottles of oil still to pour so they are ready for you to have to use. The part I am most excited about is that this year there will be other varieties bottled for sale. Melissa, Riverina Alan, Riverina Thomas, Pacific Blue and a few more in addition to Grosso and Folgate.

That also means I get to do work on my online store so the choices show up there. New labels are being made with some tiny little name tags for identification.

Also I need to choose a date for the Oil Smelling Exhibition (please someone who is not me, come up with a better name for the experience!! 😃). We will smell approximately 15 different lavender and lavandin pure essential oils and some of them will have bottles of hydrosol, which I call Lavender Spray, available to try too.

Plus 607,922 other chores, tasks, ideas, and decisions that will need to be executed. 🫶🌟 So for today, I will keep those in my brain, and will not type the details for you to read.

Day 2 of the Highland Games from 9-5 today at Melrose Vineyards! I’m taking a couple more Grosso lavender plants and still have plenty of the lavender & flaxseed filled animals. Stop and say hello while you watch logs and hay bales being thrown. 🤩

What perfect weather for the 33rd Annual Douglas County Highland Games and Clan Gathering at Melrose Vineyards. My booth is across from the fountain under the cover on the patio. Until 5 pm today.

I’m labeling lip balms, have new deodorant, nuts, oil, spray, bracelets. Lotion, plants, animals. I had 13 bars of soap but those are now gone.

I went to hide a Love Rock and I evidently it’s where I hid one last time so now there are two. ❤️

There are two kitties too.

At 5:10 am on Wednesday Folgate is on its way!! My guess is today will give me enough time to run three pots of lavender...

At 5:10 am on Wednesday Folgate is on its way!! My guess is today will give me enough time to run three pots of lavender essential oil, sweep the production floor once, fill 5 new kind of animals and 3 of the furry, fuzzy animals. But I will also get the time to have a doctor appointment and go to DMV to renew my vehicle registration. That part matters because it is expired and I have not been able to find the renewal paperwork so I did a happy dance last week when they sent me a new one!!

Howard is already doing today’s orchard work for this year’s filbert harvest.

And the outhouse got moved back up yesterday. 🤩

When you see us and we look like we are nutty, we are! Hehehe

Today is Tuesday and some people will get to enjoy tacos! What I am enjoying this morning is distilling lavender essential oil from Folgate. Hydrosol or what I call Lavender Spray when I bottle it, is also a big part of the distillation process. If you are coming out to see me, bring a canning jar or two and we can fill them with freshly made oil and hydrosol. Prices will be determined by the size of your container.

I also have bags of filberts, both cracked and in shell weighing 5 lbs each for $20.

Lavender & Flaxseed filled Animals are playing with me today too. They are $25 each except for the two giant ones that are $42 and there is about 1 of every variety that is available.

Tomorrow a new and awesome experience begins here at the farm. It is a 3-day event
and is called The Calibration 2026. It is a wellness retreat. My part is called Find Your Essence and each guest gets to explore 15 different varieties of pure essential oil distilled here at Growing Miracles Lavender Garden.

I can hardly wait to tell you how it all goes! I am also super excited because I am certain it will be repeated where others will have the opportunity to sign up and experience it too.

Grosso!! The last pot of the season just went in to the still so in a couple hours that will be the end of distilling essential oil from Grosso. 34 pots! Each pot is filled with approximately 125 lbs of lavender flowers and stems—4,250 pounds. 105 hours of harvesting. It takes 3-4 hours per pot plus set up and clean up each day. 46,460.75 milliliters of oil was produced. 12.271 gallons of oil minus the one gallon that got a shattered jar. Wooooweeeeee!

When people ask if I am enjoying my days off, I smile. I have not had one. Howard has not had one either. But we have had delicious dinners even if the plate is in our hand sitting in a chair sound asleep. 🤩

Well, it’s been a very productive day in both distilling Grosso essential oil and filling Lavender & Flaxseed Animals. The 5th tub is being filled so the most tubs are being done today. Also accidentally accomplished one task that was definitely NOT on my list… the jar of 1 gallon of oil shattered. So our trash can will definitely smell more fragrant than usual this week.

Tomorrow we will finish Grosso.
