Some days are long in a farmher’s life. Today was such a day. Up at 6:30 am to bring in the cattle to be loaded and taken to market by our wonderful carriers. Then, gathering, processing and delivering eggs to two stores. Also, today was a perfect day to mow the front hayfield. Finally, after 61 years waiting for this experience, today was the day. So thankful to the Lord for his abundant gifts and blessings . A long,yet, fulfilling day!

One strategy of Regenerative Farming is rotating the cattle from one paddock to another every few days so they don’t graze the grasses to less than 4 inches tall. This gives fields time to regenerate before they are grazed again. In spite of the drought our cattle and fields are looking better than 9 months ago when we fenced out the creek, installed waters, and transitioned from one open field to four paddocks as part of our rotational grazing program
