Fox Farm Market

Fox Farm Market We are a seasonal shop. We open in the fall and close after Christmas. As the years went on the market continued to grow. Make sure you come out and visit us!

The Fox Farm Market was started in 2001 as a way to pass the time for "retired" farmer Richard Fox. He planted pumpkins, gourds, squash, corn, and other produce, as well as made various homemade wood shop projects which he sold in his stand on the farm in the fall. The Fox Farm Market is now open for both the fall and winter season. In addition to our seasonal produce, we now also have antiques, d

ecorations, and general merchandise that we sell. The Fox Farm market is something you have to see for yourself!

Heaven has gained an angel. If you frequented the store, drove through for the Christmas display, or simply followed this page, you helped keep Dick going. He loved this store and it wouldn't have been such a success and an adventure for him, if it was not for all of you. On behalf of Dick's family, THANK YOU for helping make the store something he loved. He will forever be remembered and missed.

Our Story

The Fox Farm Market is not your average small family business. There is a fascinating history as to how it all got started. Back in 1935, when Richard Fox was two years old, he moved to a little homestead located in present day Rosemount, Minnesota. Richard and his four siblings grew up farming with their father on this homestead, and when Richard was ready, the homestead was handed to him to keep the legacy alive. This homestead became known as The Richard Fox Family Farm. It originally began as a livestock farm which focused on hogs and dairy. It expanded into a corn and soybean farm throughout the years. As Richard got older he decided to get out of the hog business and stick to dairy. Because he had some extra time on his hands, he began to plant pumpkins, squash, gourds, build birdhouses, and build other various wood projects. In 2000, the dairy barn burned down due to an electrical mishap. At this point, Richard decided to ‘retire’ from farming, but like any stubborn old farmer, retirement wouldn’t slow him down.

Richard decided to purchase a wooden corn crib in 2001 and began to sell his pumpkins, gourds, squash, and wood projects from the beginning of September through Halloween. This kept Richard out of trouble, yet it still wasn’t enough. Richard wasn’t satisfied. In 2005, another barn on the farm burnt down. At this point, Richard decided it was time for a change. Instead of leaving a hole on the farm where the barn once stood, Richard decided to build a new shed which became the home of the Fox Farm Market.

With the new shed, came a new market. Richard was now open for the fall season (September and October) and the winter season (November and December). During the fall season, he sells his usual fall produce and wood projects, but he also expanded his products to include fall décor, antiques, and more variety in produce. The winter season includes winter décor, Christmas trees, and wreaths. The Fox Farm Market also includes homemade jams, jellies, syrup, and honey made on the farm for both the fall and winter season.
