It’s that time of year that Killdeer start their nests 🤗.

They lay 1 egg a day and their nests typically consist of 4 eggs. They will hatch within 22-28 days, and the babies leave the nests immediately after hatching…and I always miss those cute fluff balls!

We have a flock of Sand Collared Martins/ Bank Swallows migrating through, headed to South America!

They sound so neat…if you can hear them over the Eastern wood Pewee 😆.

It happened again…only one successful chick hatched from the egg so had to buy it friends 🥴.
(There were too many broody hens being mean to it)

The black chick hatched from a blue egg.
