Hatch 16 miracle babies.

Y'all, I wish everything went right all the time. But sometimes GFIs trip in the middle of the night during the first week of incubation, and you wake up to cabinets at 73 degrees and 97% humidity.

Add in a bloomy egg I couldn't candle exploding last week, and 12 more were lost. But with all those hurdles, these 11 chicks survived, and bet your 🍑 I'm keeping every single one!

Y'all, my birds are great mommas!

This Hatch 1 OE pullet was born on February 6th, laid her first egg before five months, and started a persistent brood in a heat wave last month. Three weeks later, we have babies!! 🐣

The roller-coaster of breeding....

I was esctatic when I saw the lacing had darkened on this Splash Ameraucana. But when I grabbed her to take a picture, I unfortunately saw leakage on a new feather coming out of her tail.

She may still find a home in a chocolate play pen making sex-linked babies or the BBS WTB pen... but her attitude also leaves a whole lot to be desired.
