This is the only time in 2026 that I hatched more females. The BCM in the same hatch came out - 1 pullet, 4 cockerels. 🙃

How can you make these eggs in a single generation without a waitlist?

Brown + BCM = Purple
Beige + BCM = Pink

I've never had an issue with lighter shade BCM eggs not producing bloom. My lines have never been consistently dark working away from speckles, and I would describe the majority of my OE eggs as more gold than true olive.

Patience is key, especially for the F1 generation. It may take a few months before the hen settles into her color. A mature hen and cold weather are your friends here!

Note: Blooms cycle, but I'm content collecting a plain brown egg, too. 🤎
