Distinguishing dreams from wishes and embracing personal accountability -Dolly Parton

This is something I reflected on while I cleaned up all the diseased and no longer producing plants. I was warned about how harsh the Tennessee heat can be on a garden and they weren’t kidding.

I tore out the diseased cucumber and zucchini squash vines but was able to keep the tomatoes, peppers, flowers pumpkins, cantaloupe and watermelon vines. My basil and oregano are still going strong.

It’s funny how my dill died right about the time the cucumbers did. I guess that marks the end of pickling season.

Our fall harvest has already sprouted just 3 days after planting seeds!

I have learned a lot this year as a first time gardener and am looking forward to fall and next year’s harvest.
