As it turns out it's a little tricky to do the farm things, document the things, AND post about the things... while juggling the rest of a busy family life. 🙃
Hence, the unplanned social media break, lol. I do want to try to get back to posting though and catch you up a bit as to what we have going on (which is a lot)!

Recently, we've had quite the scuffle with some raccoons, and over the past few months, they've decimated our flock of chickens.
Unfortunately, the raccoons won this round and we're down to 10... from 75. Ugh. 😑

The silver lining is that the majority of them were 4-5 years old and were getting ready to retire anyway. 🤷🏻‍♀️
So, it's time to rebuild the flock... and we now get to have cute fluffy butts again! 🥰🥰🥰

This summer we had a buckling who was quite an escape artist and he enjoyed canoodling with the does... so tonight we had the fun surprise of discovering twins in the barn - a boy and a girl! Definitely earlier than we had planned and on a night that feels like 1⁰... of course! 🥶🥴

So earlier this evening that meant getting them warm and dry by the fire and checking on them through the night. I don't love a 3am alarm for chores or the freezing cold, but goodness is it pretty out there! ❄️

After 4 ½ months of running and rooting in the woods these guys have eaten all the understory and are getting ready to start heading to freezer camp in the next couple weeks. If you are looking for nutrient dense, clean pork for your freezer we have a couple available. Ask for details.

Happy pigs with another fall buffet of acorns. Thank you to Beckmans for the huge barrel full of goodness. The pigs were very happy!

If you are tired of wondering what is in the meat you buy in the store, then our pork and chicken will be right up your alley.

These wonderful pigs get lots of forested land to root in, along with plantings of turnips, radishes, bushels of pears and apples, and buckets of walnuts and acorns. Their feed is locally sourced from an Amish mill that mixes individual batches of custom feed free from GMO’s, soy and empty fillers. These pigs get to live on dirt, not manure covered concrete and they don’t get jabbed with hormones, shots, antibiotics or other pharmaceuticals. In addition to their happy and healthy space we have heard from customers and our butcher how our pork has been some of the best tasting and looking pork they've tasted and seen.

If you want to be sure you are getting nutrient dense pork or chicken, or eggs m, then “I’m your huckleberry.” 😂

Yes, they are putting drugs in your food!!! We will never agree to this with anything we grow!!!

Tennessee has already passed a law to require these foods to be labeled as a drug. Every state needs to do this!!!

Raw milk... it does a body good! 🥛 Raw milk is one of the most nutrient-dense foods available and is often called a superfood! Did you know that pasteurization destroys the enzymes needed to break down and utilize key nutrients, thereby causing many people to be lactose intolerant? Many people’s symptoms of intolerance are gone when they switch to raw milk. Studies also suggest that drinking raw milk may reduce allergies up to 50%!
Everyone here loves it, and I love that it's an easy way to nourish the whole family! ❤️

Good morning from our farm, friends! As I listened to the animals waking up and the birds singing hello, this beautiful sunrise reminded me of Psalm 19:1: 'The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.'
Each one is a testament to His faithfulness and the beauty of creation. 🌅
