Nigerian Dwarf goat milk production...I know they don't have the highest of goats, but our 2 current milking as 3rd Freshener and 6th Fresheners' production are impressing me for their size. Over a 1/2 gallon milked, with once a day milking!
If your Nigerian Dwarf Does are not meeting this production goal, check your feed quality and input, as well as, your goat's milk production bloodlines...
Or perhaps they need to freshen a few more times? Did you know that goats don't produce as much with their first 2-freshenings, as they will with their 3rd and subsequent freshening?
Also if your goat milk doesn't taste amazing, check your refrigeration temperature. One year, our refrigerator was going bad, and we didn't realize it. The goat milk tasted so strong and goaty. When we got a new fridge, the milk tasted so good again. We also milk our milk directly onto frozen stainless steel balls in the pail to help to chill it faster.
