At Toplands Farm, we have been raising hormone-free beef on the farm’s pastures in Roxbury, Connecticut for family and friends for over 30 years. Pasture-raising allows the cattle to gain weight naturally throughout the year. We supplement these rich grasses with Toplands Farm grown hay and a small quantity of protein-rich grain, resulting in a final product that is healthy, tender, and great tast
ing. Our beef is harvested and butchered in USDA-inspected facilities in Connecticut, dry-aged for fourteen to twenty-one days, packaged in vacuum cryovac, labeled for cut and weight, and frozen. By utilizing local facilities we can have our beef on your table less than four weeks after it left the pasture. We take great pride in sharing our beef with those who appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into raising beef in this manner and are committed to supporting local farms. We are raising Berkshire Pigs! This English heritage breed is renowned for its richness, texture, marbling, juiciness, tenderness and overall depth of flavor. Our eggs are from cage-free Red Cross hens! Come see our “farm-tastic” mobile coop. We also raise roasting chickens and new this year: cut up chicken!! ABOUT TOPLANDS FARM
Toplands Farm is located on ~600 acres in Roxbury, CT. Historically a dairy, the farm transitioned largely into hay production in the mid-90s while also raising beef, pork, and eggs for friends and family. In addition to our expanded beef herd, the farm is home to a collection of farm “pets” including donkeys, cows, goats, chickens, and occasional visitors from other farms.
