Happy world 🥛 day!
AND 2026 is the Year of The Woman Farmer 😊
This morning was the first day in 5 weeks I got to go over and milk my queens. It’s been a long 5 weeks. And I can’t think of a more fitting day than world milk day to get back at it!
Quick update on my ankle. I am still in the dreaded boot 😅 I go in tomorrow morning to an ortho doctor to get an MRI done. And we will go from there.
Some fun facts about milk:
🥛 About 87% of milk is water, which is one reason it helps keep you hydrated while providing important nutrients!
🧑🌾 Farmers work 365 days a year. Yes, even “holidays” and weekends. And we usually start our days before the sun. 5 am sharp. Lol
🐄 Cows are routine driven. They NEED routine and their schedule, without it problems can arise!
⭐️ dairy cows are NOT the same as beef. When I was taking applications for a farmhand I had quite a few people say “I’ve had beef cows in the past so I assume dairy cows will be the same” hahah. Wrong 🤣🤪 dairy cows are nicer 🤭
💤 Cows have it made! They eat, milk, rest all day, then repeat. 👑 literal queens lol.
Good milk starts with good nutrition, behind every delicious jar of milk is a farmer going above and beyond to take care of their herd because milk doesn’t start in the jar, it starts long before that. With intention, nutrition, love, and care.
Legacy farms is a first generation dairy farm, hoping to carry on for many generations after us. God called us to this job and we love serving our community and putting good milk on the tables of those around us.
Thank you for the constant support that helps keep this farm running another day. Without our customers we wouldn’t be here!
Happy world milk day! Go buy you some delicious milk to celebrate 😋
