To my veteran friends, thank you. Not just for your service, but for the sacrifices most people will never fully see or understand. Some of you carried burdens long after the uniform came off. Some lost brothers, sisters, peace, time with family, or parts of yourselves in service to others.

Today is more than a holiday. It’s a reminder that freedom came with a cost paid by real people with real lives.

For those still here, I hope you know your sacrifices mattered. For those we lost, may they never be forgotten.
