As we celebrate with fireworks this season, please help keep our community safe by following these important tips:

✅ Use fireworks only in legal areas and during approved times
✅ Keep a bucket of water or hose nearby
✅ Never allow young children to handle fireworks
✅ Light one firework at a time and maintain a safe distance
✅ Never relight a "dud" firework
✅ Dispose of used fireworks by soaking them in water before discarding
✅ Be mindful of dry conditions and fire danger

A few moments of caution can prevent injuries, property damage, and fires. Let's work together to ensure everyone enjoys a safe and memorable celebration.

Have fun, celebrate responsibly, and help keep our community safe!

Father's Day became a national observance in the United States in the early 20th century, recognizing the important role fathers and father figures play in shaping families, communities, and future generations. In 1972, it was officially established as a permanent national holiday.

Throughout Rupert's history, fathers, grandfathers, and mentors have helped build our community—from the early settlers and farmers who helped develop the Magic Valley to the public servants, business owners, educators, and volunteers who continue to make our city a great place to live.

This Father's Day, we honor all the dads and father figures whose guidance, hard work, and dedication have left a lasting impact on our families and our community.

Happy Father's Day from the City of Rupert!

American Eagle Day – June 20

Today we celebrate American Eagle Day, recognizing the bald eagle as our nation's symbol of strength, freedom, and resilience.

Designated as the national bird of the United States in 1782, the bald eagle represents the ideals and spirit of our country. Thanks to conservation efforts across the nation, this iconic species has made a remarkable recovery and continues to soar over America's landscapes.

As we observe American Eagle Day, we also recognize the importance of protecting wildlife and preserving the natural resources that make Idaho and our nation special.
