Don Lind worked at his father’s (Percy Lind) meat locker in the small town of Mabel, MN in the 1940’s. Donnie left the meat locker to start a farm, as well as a family in Rushford, MN, with his wife Anita (Schroeder) Lind from Caledonia, MN. They continued to raise a family of five children along with Hereford cattle among other livestock.
Dave Lind (one of Donnie’s sons) continued raising Herefords and other livestock on a small hobby farm in Rushford, MN. After years of raising his own meat for family and friends Dave decided to complete the circle by providing quality meat to customers in the Tri-State Area.
Dave (Karla) Lind along with his four children Tori (Bob) Burmester, Zach Lind, Kenzie (Isaac) Fruechte, and Kobe Lind are officially launching Grandpa Don’s Meats. Local meat raised with love and full of quality. Of course the circle wouldn’t be complete without offering our first cuts of meat for sale where is all started, (Lange’s Grocery) Mabel, MN!
