Arnold Farms

Arnold Farms Arnold Farms, located in eastern Rush County, offers a unique assortment of all-natural produce grown using organic practices.

Arnold Farms is located on the historic Arnold Farmstead in Union Township, Rush County. The farm was established by John Arnold in 1820 and has been operated as a family farm for over 194 years. We proudly offer a variety of vegetables and fruits grown on the same soil which has sustained the family for generations. We strongly believe that if you take care of the land, it will take care of you.

That's why all of our produce is grown as naturally as possible, with no pesticides or synthetic chemicals of any kind. We specialize in proven heirloom varieties that have been bred for superior flavor, not just long shelf life or uniform appearance. Come see us Saturday mornings at the Farmers and Artisans Market in Rushville!

Good morning, friends! We are set up for our second-to-last market of the year with plenty of potatoes and pumpkins, along with some other veggies. We want to say THANK YOU so much the incredible amount of support we've received since the fire. It has allowed us to immediately replace our market supplies and harvest vehicle. Even more, your donations, kind words, and continued patronage let us finish the market season on a much-needed high note.

The fundraiser set up for us has been more successful than we could have imagined. You all are amazing. We are going to make one more push of fundraising as we enter the last week of the market. Please share the link below if you are able. Thank you all so much!!!

Losing our gator in our barn fire was one of the most emotionally difficult things. The gator enabled us to bring our kids to harvest and work in the field as a family. We have countless pictures of our kids and their cousins going for rides around the farm and down to the creek.

Today we brought home a golf cart that replaced many of the functions of our beloved gator. Thanks to Johnson County Golf Carts in Franklin, we now are the proud owners of this golf cart the kids named 'Black Phoenix." Oak immediately took it out to the field to harvest the kale. Turns out golf bag holders also hold 5 gallon buckets. 😜

We are still feeling eternally grateful for all of the support we have received! We are excited to keep rebuilding.

Feeling incredible gratitude to the Mauzy side of our family who gifted us this tractor after our 3 tractors were destroyed in our barn fire. We weren't sure how we would dig these potatoes, but through the kindness and generosity of others, we were able. Our potato plow was one of the few things that made it through the fire. For all of the customers at who have been waiting for potatoes, we will have them again! We want to again thank everyone for your support. It is truly what has kept us going and motivated to build back even stronger than before.

These delicata exemplify how we have needed to pivot and adapt after our barn fire, and we lost our washing, packing, and storage areas. These are stored in our home in a harvest crate borrowed from , and brought to us at the market by . We are washing our produce with a hose in our yard under shady trees.

In many ways, it feels like we lost everything and are taking a step back to when when we first started our farm 9 years ago, but the things the fire couldn't touch are the relationships we've built and the knowledge we've gained. We are so incredibly grateful for for organizing a fundraiser, and appreciate every single donation and all the kind words of support.

Fun fact! One of the most popular pawpaw cultivars, the Overleese, originated in Rush County. I think our county has exceptional pawpaw genetics. Our woods produce some massive and tasty fruits.

Picking pawpaws has always made me feel so grateful that the earth provides, and we get to share the bounty with our customers and community.

This week, we are feeling exceptionally grateful for all of the generous support- financially, emotionally, and spiritually. Thank you all so very much. The support from our community has been the silver lining of this otherwise overwhelming time. We love and appreciate you all.

Edit: fundraiser link added below.

We got the call that no farmer wants to get. A neighbor saw smoke and knew it had to be coming from our farm. She acted quickly and called the fire department, but our barn is totally gone. It burnt faster than I imagined anything could burn. This is where we stored all of our tractors, our grain mill, and almost everything we use for our vegetable operation. We are so grateful that the fire departments reacted so incredibly quickly and kept the fire from spreading to my grandma's home.

We are devastated, but we are determined to rebuild. We've worked too hard to give up now.

We will be at tomorrow, but with a more limited selection. We appreciate your support more now than ever. We will have plenty of cherry tomatoes, peppers, and PAWPAWS!

Hey y'all! In the way that life tends to go, our beautiful baby girl came two weeks early right before market! Due to this joyous occasion, we will have a limited offering this week including: cherry tomatoes, squash, garlic, potatoes, and catnip mice (and kale for one customer, you know who you are ☺️). Please be patient with our family members and friends who will be running the booth, but please also do come and see them. We appreciate you all SO MUCH!!!

Delicious breakfast burrito with purple and white potatoes, squash, roasted garlic, kale, and shallots grown by us, and eggs laid by our beloved chickens. It's the time of summer abundance, and it feels so good to be eating entire meals of produce we have grown ourselves. We love sharing it with our community, and will have all of these veggies at the market. See you there! 😊
