The old wooden lattice on each side of my gate entrance was literally falling apart, so I tore it down, replaced the framing with pressure treated lumber, and hung a goat and sheep panel. I think it looks nice, and I like being able to see through it. Now starting on the other side...

I had to delete my post regarding the death of my sweet cat Bodie, because of all the negative, rude and hurtful comments people were leaving. It's hard to imagine how cruel people can be when they know you're dealing with a broken heart, and right now, I am crushed. I love all my cats and strive to give them the best life possible, which includes the freedom to enjoy fresh air, sunshine, exercise, and the mental stimulation they need to thrive. Having cats outside is a fact of farm life, they keep the mice population under control. But they also sleep in the house at night, snuggle with me in the recliner on rainy afternoons, and are deeply loved. I try to keep my friends and followers informed on the daily life here on my farm, and that includes the sad moments as well as the good stuff. If that bothers you, I just ask that you have the human decency to unfollow me, and keep your heartless comments to yourself.

Geese are grazers, which means they eat grass and other green stuff, and the inside of their bills are serrated (like a steak knife) to facilitate the eating of said green stuff. They're also very strong birds, and can deliver a serious pinch with their bills hard enough to leave a bruise. Casper would love nothing better than to chase the goose, if it ran from him rather than faced him, but he got pinched a week ago and obviously isn't interested in repeating that experience!

Casper and Bodie are as loyal as any dog, and both follow me around the farm, all day. Casper had been chasing me and the Prowler back and forth, and he was panting, and his little nose was bright pink! Such a good boy!

Several years ago I had my hay field seeded with Serecia Lezpedezia, which contains a natural anti-parasitic for goats and sheep. The hay baler didn't tie the first bale it spit out, so rather than leave it for my horse, I'm disassembling the roll and stuffing it into extra-large bags to feed to my goats. It's truly a labor of love, bc it's a real PIA, but I'll be glad I did it come winter! Just FYI, if you ever store hay in bags, be sure to leave the bags open so the hay can breathe, otherwise it will hold moisture and get moldy!

“What if I’m too much?”

Too hopeful.
Too passionate.
Too kind.
Too excited.
Too emotional.
Too different.

What if the very things you’ve been told to tone down are the things God placed in you on purpose?

The world has a way of convincing us to shrink ourselves to fit into places we were never meant to stay. But flowers don’t apologize for blooming and stars don’t dim their light to make others comfortable.

Be “too much” anyway.

Laugh loudly. Love deeply. Dream boldly. Encourage freely. Let your heart stay tender in a world that often rewards hardness.

The right people won’t ask you to become less. They’ll celebrate who you are. They’ll remind you that what others called “too much” was actually your strength, your gift, your light.

And maybe the people who couldn’t appreciate your heart weren’t meant to be the ones defining your worth.

You were never created to fit into someone else’s box. You were created to walk confidently in who God made you to be.

So stop shrinking.

Take up the space God designed for you.

The people meant for your journey will recognize the beauty in your authenticity.

💛 Victoria
