I've gotten many inquiries about what's growing in our yard, so I thought I'd post about it.
Many locals may remember what our house looked like when we bought it as a foreclosure 5 years ago. It had been abandoned for years, had busted windows, broken doors, peeling paint and the lawns around the house were 2/3 dirt.
Every spring for the past 5 years I've seeded more and more clover, usually white Dutch. Last year I decided to switch it up and try crimson clover to add some color. I was brokenhearted when after all my work, I probably saw maybe a dozen bloom the entire season last year.
Then this year.... low and behold... the crimson clover not only returned, but in a spectacular, thriving display! I'm very excited!
I've also been experimenting with micro clover in high traffic areas between the house and barn, which has been an excellent solution. The micro clover stays small and has practically eliminated mowing those tight paths.
