Crème & Blanc feels less like a tasting and more like the kind of afternoon you accidentally end up talking about for weeks after.

Three whites, French macarons, and enough time to actually sit and enjoy it without feeling rushed through anything. People usually leave already planning who they’re bringing back next time.

A friend comes over, somebody opens the cab “just to try it,” and now everyone’s staying for dinner. The bottles in this month’s shipment were picked for exactly those kinds of nights.

This Elizabeth Spencer North Coast Sauvignon Blanc is the bottle that gets ordered first, and disappears first too.

Crisp enough for shrimp, cold enough for a warm afternoon, and the kind of white that makes lunch stretch a little longer than intended. Sarah poured this one with grilled halibut the other day and no one could stop talking about it.

Someone opens another bottle, somebody else starts talking about dinner plans, and suddenly it’s four hours later in the best possible way.

One of the best things about being a member is ending up at events that still feel small once you’re there.

You recognize a few faces from last time, somebody introduces you to a wine they’ve been talking about all week, and before dinner is even served the whole table already feels comfortable together. It never feels overly formal or exclusive in a strange way. More like being invited into something people genuinely enjoy showing up for.

Those evenings tend to become people’s favorite part of membership.

It usually starts pretty casually. Someone suggests meeting for a glass, somebody else brings their dog, and before long the table fills in with a few more people than expected.

The afternoon stretches out a little, no one’s checking the time too closely, and somehow you end up having the kind of conversations that only happen when everyone feels comfortable enough to stay awhile. The wine is part of it, of course, but it’s really the feeling of being there together that people remember.

Those are our favorite kinds of afternoons here.

Smaller lots, more intention, the kind of wines you don’t usually come across on your own. When she walks you through them, it actually clicks in a way that makes wine feel a lot less complicated.

Some afternoons are better when you don’t plan too much.

You find a table, open a bottle, and let things unfold from there. Maybe a game starts, maybe it’s just conversation and another pour. No one is rushing you, and there’s nowhere else you need to be.

It’s simple, but once you’re here, it makes sense.

This is the one where you don’t have to think about anything once you sit down.

A few wines are poured, a really good cheese board shows up, and somehow it all works together without being overdone. You just ease into it and let the afternoon go where it goes.

It’s a nice way to spend time here if you want something that feels a little more put together.

There’s a rhythm to how everything comes together here, and most of it starts long before anyone is sitting at a table.

Sarah’s usually out early, tasting, walking, paying attention to the small things that end up making the biggest difference later on. It’s not something you always see, but you can feel it once you’re here.

It’s a quieter kind of approach, but it’s what shapes everything in the glass.
