We still don’t have enough rain to fully size up the fruit at Sweets Berry Farm. Normally we’d be opened already, but this is the worst drought since 2012. We just have to be patient. We have a ton (actually about 100 tons) of peaches, nectarines, plums and pears coming in nicely. They just aren’t there yet. We see reports that other farms are delayed about the same amount as ours. There‘s another ocean of blueberries coming as well and we have a lot of very nice thornless blackberries inbound. Too bad we won’t be open for this holiday weekend, but we’ll be here for everyone all summer long. The great news is that fruit growing slowly in the sun develops even more sugars, so they’ll be fantastic when they are ready to pick!!! Visit our website below or call for updates.

At Sweets Berry Farm we are looking for one part time employee, usually working on Sundays from 9am until 3pm. Possible work on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday may be requested if another staff member is unable to work, but not mandated. The job will be during the summer picking season which runs about 10-11 weeks starting in about a week and a half from today. The job entails usually opening for customers in the morning, interfacing with customers during business hours, updating and coordinating with the owner or other staff promptly regarding any problems. A candidate must be able to show up on time with very high probability. Things beyond our control can happen, but recurring issues with pets, broken vehicles, and family members won't work. Customers show up when they do and we have to be open. A candidate must be at least 18 years old, have a verifiable social security number and no criminal history. Candidates must be comfortable with basic smart phone and iPad applications. The more you know about agricultural topics, probably the better. Obviously, interpersonal skills matter greatly. References are required. Sweets is a no-smoking, equal opportunity business. If you or someone you know would like to be considered, please call me at 678-662-6119 and feel free to send a summary letter to [email protected].

Best wishes all! We'll be open for the season soon. Stay tuned.

Thank goodness for the rain!! Normally in March and April, Sweets Berry Farm has more rain than we want. I heard the drought this Spring was the worst since 2012. Fortunately, it appears the blueberries, blackberries, peaches, nectarines, plums, and pears mostly survived the late freeze and the drought. Now we just have to see if we'll have an impact on opening day. Stay tuned.

We're really looking forward to seeing so many of you who have visited the farm year after year for so long. If you are new to Sweets Berry Farm, please visit our website below and join the mailer on the top-right corner of the page. We send very few emails out and only for things like opening day or specials. Otherwise, we'll post updates here periodically and try to get back to you quickly with any questions or comments. Just a couple of weeks and we'll be ready for the season!

Best wishes all.

At Sweets Berry Farm, we are getting ready for opening day which is usually around May 20th. It looks like we survived the recent freeze just fine.

Blueberries are coming in nicely and we are going to have a solid crop of thornless blackberries. We replaced all of them starting two years ago and those first plants are getting mature enough to make a decent crop. Nectarines are doing fine along with peaches and plums. We'll pray we don't have a freak April freeze. It also looks like we have a large amount of European and Asian pears for later in the season.

To get email notifications about opening day, specials, and general information about Sweets Berry Farm, visit SweetsBerryFarm.com and join the mailer (tab on top-right of page). We'll be sending out occasional updates with photos over the next 7 weeks to show everyone how things are progressing along.

Looking forward to seeing all of you again this year!!

We just finished pruning 1300 fruit trees on the east side of Sweets Berry Farm. That took six weeks. Now we get to prune over 300 pear trees on the west side but that happens in December.

Another 300 blackberry plants get installed in December too. We’ll be busy in March installing 110 more fruit trees and 300 blueberry plants (120 of which are pink lemonades). No matter how many pink lemonades we put in, we always need more. Those who’ve tried them understand why!

Remember that some of the new trees are apricots for those who make their own jellies or dehydrate. Like any new stone fruit trees, it will take them two years to produce after planting. A old saying is the best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The next best time is now, so we’ll git-r-dun.

60 of the new trees are very late ripening peaches to coincide with our late pears and plums. We do our best to have a variety of fruit to pick throughout the whole season. As we continue to work through fall, winter and spring, we’ll look forward to seeing you next May for the 2026 season.

Sweets Berry Farm is now closed for the season. Normally, we close in mid-August. The constant rains after the double freeze in April made this an atypical year. Blueberries were incredible. but tree fruits suffered. Regardless, many thanks to the hundreds of visitors per weekend since May. It was great to see so many coming back year after year!

We will be hard at work during the off season and will plant another 400 blackberry plants, 114 fruit trees, and add three more rows of pink lemonade blueberry plants. We'll post what's going on from time to time as we get ready for next season. Remember to join the mailer at our website shown below, so that you get direct notification about opening next May.

Sweets Berry Farm will be open on Saturday 7/19 from 9am until noon. There will be no field entry tomorrow or thereafter this year. We will have only pre-picked tree fruits only. The blueberries were great this year, but they have run their course.

We will pre-pick white peaches, European pears (Clapp's Favorite and perhaps Anjou and Moonglow) as well as Asian pears (Hosui and Nigiseiki). Prices are $18 per 1.25-gallon bucket. If you don't want a full bucket, we'll reduce the volume and price accordingly. You can get some peaches and pears mixed at the same price.

A few days ago, we checked the sizes of various fruits and tomorrow will not be our last open day of the season. We'll pick the larger fruits tomorrow for you and the following week sometime, we'll do it again until the trees are picked clean.

Sweets Berry Farm will be CLOSED today, July 13. We will re-open on July 19 for White Peach and Pear (European and Asian) picking. The larger fruits were picked heavily today and we need the next six days to allow what remains to size up nicely. We'll decide on July 19 if we'll also be open the following day before closing for the season.

Always check our website for updates before visiting!

Sweets Berry Farm will be open today from 9am - 4:30pm. We still have Blueberries and a lot of European and Asian pears. Peaches are very sparse now. Plums, nectarines and blackberries are gone for the season. Chances are either today or tomorrow will be the last day of this season for u-pick. We will likely have one or two open days in the morning for the next two weeks to sell pre-picked pears until they are gone.

Sweets Berry Farm is open today 9am - 4:30pm with plenty of blueberries and pears (European and Asian). We also have some white peaches (identifiable with white paint on the tree trunks) and sparse yellow peaches.

A lot of people got introduced yesterday to Asian pears at Sweets Berry Farm and now they are fans. Of course, folks who already loved them showed up because there are no other farms in Georgia where you can pick them. In the very few stores that have them, they cost as much as $4 each. Our price... the same as all other fruits, $18 per 1.25-gallon bucket. That's about $1 per fruit. Better, bigger, sweeter, and much cheaper! That's what we all need. We still have lots of blueberries and some peaches. Come out today between 9am and 2:30. We'll see you here!
