Cow moving day! After getting snowed out for yesterday the sun came out in full force today. Everything went fairly smooth and though I'm sad to not have my cows right out my back door I'm pretty excited for them to have all this grass to eat the next few months!

Spent the last several days getting ready to move the cows to a summer pasture for grazing! We are excited for the opportunity to meet new friends and also graze the cows on their property. For the next few months they will have these beautiful views with about 12 acres of treed pasture.

I moved Karmel and Dunkin to the front pasture on our property today so Karmel will have a few days to get used to the fencing so we can easily load her for the move on Friday.

It was a lazy day for the girls in the pasture today.

This little turd gave us quite the scare this week. Now please know that we understand the risks of letting our animals outside up here in the mountains. There are a lot of predators around and scary things can happen....

Monday evening Tori was running in and out of the house with the dogs and hanging out on the front porch. When I went to lock everyone up she was nowhere to be found. We searched for hours Monday, all day Tuesday and Wednesday. We were absolutely devastated. I don't think I've cried that much in a very long time. We were pretty sure something had snagged her. But there was zero signs of her anywhere.

But then after working outside for awhile I heard the faintest little meow and I ran as fast as I could to her. She was about 30 ft up in a tree across the street. Pretty sure she wandered over there, got scared by the dogs over there and ran up the closest tree and just kept going. She was terrified and clinging for her life onto a little branch. She was very happy to get rescued and is doing great now. She's an ornery little thing and we are so so so happy to have our little baby back home where she belongs.
