We have something exciting cooking at Scenic View Orchards!

With such a bountiful tomato harvest this year, we decided to turn some of that abundance into our very own Scenic View Orchards spaghetti sauce. Today, we have 2,900 pounds of tomatoes, more than 200 pounds of Sweet Italian peppers, and more than 200 pounds of onions headed out to be processed.

We are starting with three flavors:

Marinara
Roasted Red Pepper
Roasted Garlic & Herb
We're excited to see how the finished sauces turn out and, hopefully, they will be on our store shelves and available online in the coming weeks. It's especially exciting knowing that so many of the ingredients going into the jars came right out of our fields.

On the much hotter side of the farm, we had our first large picking of our super-hot peppers this week. Habaneros, Scorpion peppers, Ghost peppers, Armageddon peppers, and Carolina Reapers are now available.

A word of caution if you're brave enough to take some home: please be careful when cutting and processing these peppers! Gloves and good ventilation are highly recommended. You definitely don't want to accidentally "pepper spray" yourself—or your entire kitchen—while making hot sauce!

We're entering one of our favorite times of the growing season, when summer crops are still producing heavily while some of our cooler-weather crops begin returning. There's a lot of great food coming out of the fields right now!
