Taking a fresh cut of bines with local Nugget hops to Swing Barrel Brewing Company, LLC for decoration for their Oktoberfest today 2-9pm....outside - local bands, local vendors, local food trucks, and KRFF 95.9 Radio Free Fargo spinning POLKA vinyl between bands! Hello! Labor Day 2026 - we picked Cascade hops for Swing Barrel Brewing Company, LLC for the Mainline Pale Ale (with Nugget, Centennial, Mt. Hood hops provided Streiff-Braw Hops in S. Mhd). It was our best harvest to date - large cones a plenty at the 16-18 ft level on the bines. Very much enjoyed the new faces that were out to experience their first hop harvest - hope you learned a little bit. And of course, thank you to all of the regulars that were able to come out -- some for the first time in a few years. We can't appreciate the help enough -- it is always a fun time to catch up with so many - and after the pick is done, we all chill and reflect on how blessed we are to be able to grow local hops for local b**r for the 10th year. My Mom & Dad had the best seat in the house again - sure do cherish our many years of picking hops together...miss them. Thank you again and we look forward to sharing this new b**r release with everyone - near and far! Already looking forward to next year! Enjoy some photos!

We pick Hops at about 9am Monday --- so some of us are thinking of having a little breakfast beforehand. It is a full circle moment some what -- my Grandfather Eugene built Mainline Potato Co., and my Dad Sherwood would take over and run it many more years.....and their crews would eat at the Midway Corner across Hwy 9 or eat in their breakroom -- well, kind of neat that we will be doing the same thing before our hops harvest this year. I'll be sitting at Grandpa's table --- he's that guy in his Bib Overalls standing by the water pipes at Mainline Potato Co....which is of course now the The Mainline Bar & Grill. Hope to see some early risers join us there and go pick hops after breakfast! Cheers!

Hello 2026! We are still here! Sorry - we didn't do an update yet - been a busy summer with double watering days through the heat and drought this year. But, yes - we are still here....and we are coming up on picking hops!

Picking hops this Monday - Sept. 7 at 9am. This will be our 10th production year - thank you to everyone that has helped pick over the years, it has always been greatly appreciated! Cascade is the hop to be picked - and will be available the beginning of Oct as it is released as Mainline Wet Hop at Swing Barrel Brewing Company, LLC --- we will have the regular crew handling the HopsHarvester machine, I most likely will be helping with cutting down the bines from the hop yard.....and the other regulars will be sorting through the hops, tossing the leaves/stems out - while in the shade/sun, with a nice forecasted southeastern breeze in your comfy chair, tunes will be playing too, hop cone softness feels are free -- it is great therapy. Enjoy the beverages provided or bring your own water/pop -- we will have some treats, I'm sure. After the pick has been completed (about 2 hours) - we will follow the Swing Barrel cargo van to the brewery to have lunch (most likely pizzas) and celebrate the drop of the hops into the mash - LIVE!
