Zena Foods continues to operate and serve the community.
It is part of my story and part of my family’s story. I co-founded Zena Foods and spent the early years building it hands-on — producing, cooking, and running daily operations myself, often with a handful of employees alongside me.
My son Ben was an integral part of the transition as the business moved from Monterey to Sacramento, and his contribution during that time meant a great deal to me.
As my children were growing, I stepped back from daily production to focus on raising them and expanding the business in different new ways.
Today, I am no longer involved in the business and do not have a role in its operations. Our younger sons are working in the business with their father, and I wish them continued success.
My work has shifted into writing and new projects under my own name.
