Genealogy Pieces (Family Quilt Genealogy) My passion/hobby is genealogy! Once I started, many years ago, I was hooked.

Genealogy Pieces (Family Quilt Genealogy) is "everything" genealogy, and shares information on genealogical tools, softwares, websites, other pages, search engines, blogs, family history stories, events etc. I hope that you enjoy the Page and that at least one "Piece" that is shared helps you with your family history journey!

Do you have an aunt or uncle from Illinois who fought for our country?
Do you want to honor them?
The good news is that you can.
The Prairie Patriot program allows indirect ancestors – in other words, siblings of your direct ancestors. This allows us to honor additional Patriots, even if they had no offspring.
Certificates and lapel pins are offered for descendants of Illinois ancestors who served in any war from the Revolutionary War through World War II. They did not need to fight in an “Illinois unit” but must have lived in Illinois at some point during their life.
For more information or an application, go to https://ilgensoc.org/cpage.php?pt=125.
