I came across a video recently that really opened my eyes. It dives into how one major food distributor, Sysco, has changed what ends up on our plates and how that’s made many dining experiences across the country start to blend together.

It made me want to double down on what we do at SacTown Bites. We celebrate the chefs, farmers, and artisans who source locally, cook from scratch, and keep Sacramento’s food scene vibrant and unique.

Win a SacTown Bites Food Tour for Two by bidding on The Village Feast's online auction. Bids must be in by 8pm tonight. This fundraiser raises money for Davis Farm to School and provides garden grants, farm field trips, and support for farm-fresh food in schools.

The Les Dames d'Escoffier International, Sacramento provide funds for homeless women with children in the St. John's residential shelter and culinary training program, as well as grants for food-oriented programs and organizations plus scholarships to women in food, wine, and agriculture.
