Another question we get asked is “how do you pick them all?!”

The answer… “the old fashioned way - all by hand!”

We put A LOT of hours in at the orchard, but it truly is a blessing as we spend time together sharing stories, talking about books that someone has read, singing songs together, playing games, or talking about life and big important things. We also receive help during some of our biggest harvest days from family, neighbors, and church friends, and we are blessed to spend time with them as well.

We are thankful that you get to enjoy the “fruits” of our labor, and we love hearing everyones’ elderberry stories. Come on out today as our freezers are getting full, and we need to move some berries!

Hello friends! Pick-up instructions!

Today is the day - first day open of the 2026 season! Please check out the pictures to see what to look for when coming to pick-up your frozen ELDERBERRIES!

Please DO NOT use the driveway by the West Road Lumber sign even if GPS tells you to turn there. This is not the orchard driveway. Look for the red “open” flag and turn into that driveway - follow to the top past the pine trees.

1 day away from our 2026 opening day! We will be open August 11th through about mid-September (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays) as long as our berry supply lasts.

Side Note:
A question we often get asked is “what else do you sell?”

While the maple business is not ours, we enjoy helping my parents make maple syrup at Boylan Farms in Crossingville.

We are considering partnering with them to have a limited amount of smaller bottles of maple syrup available for sale in the orchard house. Is there anyone who has interest in this idea? Let us know if the comments. Thanks so much!

P.S. I might be biased, but my parents’ maple syrup is absolutely amazing! 😉….. And I might add, it pairs very nicely with elderberries.

Something new this year….

A couple of our daughters are growing flowers together and will have bouquets available for sale in the orchard house so bring a little extra $ if interested. They are trying to earn money for different reasons. One is saving money for horse riding lessons, another to fuel her art passion, and the last I think just wants to buy Barbie accessories (😉). They would welcome vase donations and/or clean glass pickle/pasta jars that they can recycle. They will have a basket in the orchard house to drop them when you come.

We also thought it would be a beautiful way to decorate the orchard house for when you come to pick up berries!

Don‘t forget… opening day is this Tuesday, August 11th. We will post information on what to look for when coming in a day or two.

Summer 2026 UPDATE!!

We are hoping to start having open hours for berry pickup in about 2 weeks so mid-August.

New customers please note, we sell DESTEMMED, WASHED, and FROZEN elderberries in either a 3 or 5 pound package. We will post specific days and hours that our orchard house is open when you can come pick up berries first come first served.

Hey elder friends…

Last year we shared stories about some of our repeat customers and how they like to use our elderberries. We reached the end of our season without getting the chance to introduce one of our longest standing customers so we are going to kick off this year with them.

Meet the Benders of Four Soils Farm Elderberry..,.

They have come year after year to our farm and have bought hundreds of pounds of frozen berries. They take them back to the Pittsburgh area where they make and bottle elderberry health syrup and elderberry lemonade using the best ingredients from other local farmers as well. The Benders can be found selling their products at many of the Pittsburgh area farm markets and through an online website called Market Wagon that delivers to the Pittsburg area.

We appreciate their continued support and wish them the “berry” best as they try to spread the love for this special little berry!
