The farm keeps taking the back seat! Just on social media though…. We’re still trucking along trying to figure out our sustainability plans for the homestead. I do have a couple goats available for new homes, eggs chicken and duck, when the heat isn’t ridiculous and they stop laying, I get it, i wouldn’t want to lay an egg in this heat either! I havent grown anything in years 🤣but I have plans so that should count for something!

I have been the absolute worst at posting updates here! They are $4 each with a minimum purchase of 3 chicks, I have about 85 chicks(I’ll get a better count once I get the baby down for a nap)

We have some beautiful eggs ready to go just in time for all your Easter baking and egg dying fun! The duck eggs are all white and light blue and will take dye perfectly. The chicken eggs come pre colored so just cook them :)
Duck eggs are in half dozen cartons and only $1.5 each
Chicken eggs are $3 a dozen or $4.50 for the 18 packs

Because I needed more egg cartons and was in need of some serotonin… I bought the rainbow cartons. I have zero regrets. The eggs are even more pretty in these cartons! I’ll have them ready for pickup tomorrow, I have a sick kiddo today, that just means I’ll have at least another 18 pack tomorrow, possibly two dozen 🙂

I’m so excited for this handsome long eared boy to come join us on the farm soon! He has awesome lines, his grandpa threw stunning colors, and I just can’t get over those ears! Then we have the biggest baby I’ve ever seen! Our first full lamanche and second baby of the season is another girl! She’s huge! She’s almost as big as the 3 week old in the next pen😍 We’re this much closer to milk season!

Did you know that fresh clean eggs with the bloom intact(a protective coating the hen so sweetly provides) are shelf stable? Not indefinitely of course, but fresh eggs can sit at room temperature for at least a month! This is only a weeks worth of eggs and I’m running out of space. Which is great news for you all because I need them off my shelves and into your recipes. Chicken eggs are just $2 a dozen, please bring a carton or container of some sort to take your eggs home in, I need to order more cartons🤦‍♀️I just keep forgetting when I log onto Amazon I get sidetracked. Message me and we can arrange pickup!

If you have extra cartons laying around I’d appreciate the donations, the ice cream buckets can only hold so many eggs on my kitchen table

Currently Out of the way farms as a business is on a pause. The chickens and ducks are taking their winter laying break(I found these behind a tire…they were not fresh 🤢) and the goats are about midway through their pregnancies. So we’re all just waiting. Waiting for spring to come, with spring will come fresh eggs, many baby goats and fresh milk! Hopefully this year we can focus on building the garden into a more permanent source of food for our family, with extra to share!
