So excited that our little Merlin was asked to be part of this project! He worked so hard. His ego has gotten a little big since being discovered but he is still our sweet boy. He plays Sabrina in the film.

When your husband tells you that we're out of the milk you spent months saving and freezing last season.

This isn't even all of it. This is just what I found in 30 seconds when I opened the freezer.
We don't have a big freezer. It was in our refrigerator freezer. He didn't have to go to the garage but there is more out there too.
smh
Do you even have eyes?

We're supplementing Syrah's feedings since she was the runt. With triplets, the bigger two crowd out the little one and she needs more than what she was getting which is why I save extra milk. Just in case we need to supplement or get a baby that's been rejected.
Gotta plan ahead!

I'm so sad that Grenache and Syrah will be leaving us in November.
A deposit was put down for them today.
I always want to keep all the babies, which I can't do unfortunately.
We do have 4 other babies looking for forever homes. DM me to set up a time to meet them or place a deposit. They will be weaned and ready to go mid-November.
Goats make the best Thanksgiving day present lol πŸ₯°

There are dumb questions.

If a breeder gets short with you when you inquire about an animal, please keep in mind it's because we get a LOT of people wasting our time.

I don't expect you to be an expert on goats as a first time buyer but there are some basics that I (used to) expect people to know.

Just because you saw a video of a cute baby goat in pajamas and you "want" one, doesn't mean you are ready for one.
Please do some research into their basic needs before reaching out to a breeder.

This interaction was actually a great one. The guy was respectful and happy to put down the deposit which let's me know that he is serious, or he will at least buy some eggs.

I've had people no show after I made sure I had a babysitter to watch my human babies or I rescheduled a meeting at work.
I've had people show up, spend hours with me and admit they had never seen a goat in person (and really just wanted to pet one) but they hadn't talked to their husband/wife/significant other and doubted they were gonna get a yes.

I work a "real" job to pay our mortgage. I have human babies with appointments and therapies. Just be respectful of our time and understand that buying a goat is a commitment to the wellbeing of a living creature. It's more complex than 30 second videos on social media can show.

The trailer for the movie our goat is in just came out!
Merlin's waited a long time since filming was done last summer.
His name is Sabrina in the movie.
The working title of the movie was No Strings Attched but it looks like the title they are going with now is Run Wild.

I have a ton of behind the scenes video and pictures from when we were on set. Filming was in Temecula and the Palm Desert. Not sure when I'll be able to share them but I'm excited for when we can see the movie!

Unfortunately this has happened to us many times. People want to come see our goats and don't care that its 6am because they assume they know our schedule. They call and don't care that its midnight. They think because we are a business they don't have to call or make an appointment. They come up our driveway even though I have no trespassing signs. I've even had people tell me point blank, "I saw the rules. I just didn't think you were serious." Or one lady said, "I didn't think they applied to me." Why wouldn't they? I don't know you. Yes this is our business but it is also our home and you do not have a right to it, to us, our animals or our property just because you want to. It's not just disrespectful, it's a crime and we have cameras too.
