Les's Moor Farm is the creation of Leslie Chaplin and family on 47 acres at the end of the road in the middle of nowhere. It started in 2003 when we found the 1906 farm on Thanksgiving weekend in a blizzard. It was love at first site and we began to work on the old farm house before we even qualified for the loan! It needed doors in place of the sleeping bags that were nailed up over the the entry
ways. What began as a small garden quickly led to chickens, then goats, bees, alpacas, sheep, horses and a donkey! The simple life with hard physical work and lots of love and care brings peace of mind and comfort in these busy times. The name Les's Moor Farm was Vinny's creation with his gift for puns. The concept of less is more and living the simple life is true enough, but the fact that about half of our land is swamp (i.e. "a moor") and I love this country lifestyle led to the name Les's Moor or, my swamp farm!
