I’ve noticed something exciting this year — more real ladybugs than I’ve ever seen before! 🐞 (not the Asian beetles)
Ladybugs are one of the garden’s best helpers. Both the adults and their larvae feed on aphids, mites, scale insects, and other pests that can damage flowers, fruits, and vegetables. A single ladybug can eat dozens of aphids a day!
So why are we seeing more of them?
🌿 We’re restoring natural habitat with native flowers and diverse plantings.
🌸 We leave plenty of pollen and nectar sources available throughout the season.
🚫 We don’t use insecticides that can harm beneficial insects along with the pests.
🐝 We work hard to create a healthy ecosystem where pollinators and beneficial insects can thrive.
Nature has an incredible way of balancing itself when given the chance. Seeing these little spotted helpers all over the farm is a reminder that healthy soil, diverse plantings, and fewer chemicals really do make a difference.
I like to think that every ladybug is a tiny sign that the ecosystem is working exactly as God intended. ❤️🐞
