Friendly reminder that space heaters and heat lamps are the number one cause of fires. Your livestock is hardy and should not need additional heat. Keep your barn and home safe and avoid using space heaters and heat lamps as much as possible.

With temperatures getting colder, it's time we start thinking about how our livestock are going to handle the upcoming winter months. Without a shelter, beef cattle can handle temperatures down to 0°F, dairy cattle can handle temperatures to 20°F, and goats and chickens can handle temperatures to 30°F. With a shelter that provides protection from wind and rain/snow, these animals can handle temperatures well below zero, so remember to give your friends a place that they can get out of the elements!

Did you know that chickens are omnivores? Their natural diet consists of seeds, grasses, fruits, vegetables, insects, amphibians, snakes, and small rodents. When buying eggs, try to avoid any that say "vegetarian fed" as the chickens laying those eggs are not fed a balanced diet and the nutrients in the eggs will be reduced.

🍂🌾 Happy first day of Autumn! As the days grow shorter and the leaves turn vibrant, it's the perfect time to celebrate the harvest and embrace the beauty of nature. Let's enjoy this season of fresh apples, pumpkins, and cozy vibes! 🎃🍏🍁

We sent our first cow to the locker this week. He has been with us for almost a year and a half, and we always knew this day would come, but it's still a bittersweet time. We're very grateful and fortunate to be able to raise our own beef and to provide our cattle an enjoyable life while they're on our ranch. ❤️🐮
