With heavy heavy hearts… Bear is flying high with Molly and Kahlua… I have no words but I’m sorry Bear. We love you. You were the best dog anyone could’ve asked for. (5/11/22 1430 hours)
This is an unusual post for LMD, but it is also a hard and difficult one. Please keep Bear in your thoughts and prayers. This morning has been a rough one. Over night there was an incident between him and one of our other dogs that we were unaware of until I found Beary this morning severely injured… I rushed Bear to the vet where they are still caring for him, running test because he is 11 years old and possibly has heart murmur. The vet said his heart looks and sounds great. The vets that saw him have high hopes that he will be cleared for surgery later today.
He is a fighter. He’s Maggie’s first dog. He is the bestiest of the good boys. Always ready for cuddles and to be the defender of the house. Even as I rushed him to the vet, Beary still had a smile and was waging his tail. That is just his personality.
Because of cameras we have an idea of why it occurred. It’s has never happened between Bear and the other dog. We don’t know what we are going to do, but the safety and security of all our animals will be our first priority. So please, no judgmental comments as this is not our first rodeo with raising lots of animals from own to fosters. Raising and caring for animals is often difficult and you never know what each day will bring. Right now we’re just asking for thoughts and prayers for Bear. The other dog, and the dogs that came to Bear’s rescue are fine.
We will keep you all updated to the best of our abilities.
Thank you,
Logan
