Looks like rain again. The farm stand is open 12-4pm today but sadly, the Upick pumpkin field is not ready to open yet. It’s a mix of flooded rows and a few green pumpkins that need a few more extra days before turning orange. (Even though I love the green ones)

Going on eight years of growing pumpkins here at this property (14 years of growing pumpkins total) and this is probably the first year where I didn’t share on social media the planting and growing process. We have faced a few hard years recently due to rain, hurricanes, bees not pollinating the blossoms, bad seed, soil deficiencies and timing. After planting late this year and the stress of not “keeping up”, I honestly kept it out of sight. Out of sight = out of mind.
Life is funny like that. We had bigger fish to fry this year. Bigger issues to focus on…. and here we are five months later and the crop that *low key* got neglected is looking pretty dang good.

So here’s a pretty picture of October’s favorite color and a post to say “hang on just a little bit longer”. Thank you for all the calls, patience and kindness. We know you’re excited and we can’t wait to have you out!
