Welcome to Mark and Lisa Wilson’s Manchac Swamp Farm!
Our dream in creating this farm was to build a little paradise—for ourselves and for as many others as possible, especially children.
We specialize in breeding and raising rare, registered Southdown Babydoll miniature sheep and Nigerian Dwarf goats, along with a wide variety of both common and rare chicken breeds—and, of course, lots of cats!
In addition to our animals, we also keep honeybees and harvest honey twice a year. We grow hybrid blackberries and tend a large garden in both spring and fall. You’ll often find a generous supply of farm-fresh honey, eggs, homemade fig preserves, pomodoro sauce, smoked sausage, fresh catfish, and seasonal vegetables.
Our big new barn is not just a home for our animals—it’s a warm, inviting space for friends, too. It’s filled with antiques, dollhouses, a cozy wood stove, vintage rugs, and more.
