We’ll be setting up at the Waycross Farmers Market at the fairgrounds on Knight Street tomorrow, 4/11 and would love to see you out there. We plan to be there bright and early and start packing up to leave around noon.

What We’re Bringing This Week:

-Raw goat milk from our organic fed goats. For pets. In glass jars.
-Small quantity of handmade cold process goat milk soap
-Hatching eggs - Welsh Harlequin Duck
-Mini Rex rabbits. We used them for meat. One 16 week old will feed 2 adults if you have sides with your meal, plus a nice pelt. We are moving to larger breed rabbits and getting out of minis.
-3 Adult Welsh Harlequin duck hens close to laying.

We’ll be setting up at the Waycross Farmers Market at the fairgrounds on Knight Street this Saturday and would love to see you out there.

What We’re Bringing This Week:

-Raw goat milk from our organic fed goats. For pets. In glass jars.
-Small quantity of handmade cold process goat milk soap
-Hatching eggs - Welsh Harlequin Duck/Naked Neck dual purpose chicken.
-Turken cross chicks, all have a naked neck, about 3 weeks old. Straight run.
-Mini Rex rabbits. We used them for meat. One 16 week old will feed 2 adults if you have sides with your meal, plus a nice pelt. We are moving to larger breed rabbits and getting out of minis.
-One Turken rooster. Not aggressive with people. He's been a good rooster, we're just moving to Bresse.
-Adult Welsh Harlequin ducks close to laying.

Welsh Harlequin Ducklings available

Welsh Harlequin are auto sexing by bill color at hatch. They are a relatively calm breed of egg laying ducks. They don't generally fly, they're easy to keep inside fences, easy to care for. They love having even just a little kiddy pool to play in and wash themselves.

They are excellent foragers, I hardly see them eating the feed on the days they are out roaming, they don't tear up the yard like chickens do.

Naked Neck Chicks

12 total available. Straight run. Hatched from dual purpose birds, all are Turken crosses and all have a naked/featherless neck. Eggs from this batch should all be medium/large brown with a chance of speckles.

These chickens have been heat hardy and easy to care for. The Turken rooster is a gentleman and has never been aggressive with us (he's also available.) The hens they were hatched from are Turken, Amberlink, Welsummer, and ISA Brown.

New Rabbits at Loki Farms - Giant Chinchillas & Satins!

After more than a year of waiting for the right Giant Chinchillas, the stars finally lined up this month. We reached back out to a breeder we’d been working with, and learned she was stepping away from rabbits and had exactly two breeding-age Giant Chinchillas left - a buck and a doe, unrelated and from her show lines.

Naturally, we made the trip.

Naturally, we didn’t come home with just two rabbits. 😂

Along with the Giants, she also had two Satin rabbits available, and between their sheen, their temperaments, and her “closing the rabbitry” pricing… well, we couldn’t resist. The best homestead plans occasionally involve saying “we’ll sort this out later” while loading cages into the truck.

So now in the rabbitry we have:
Giant Chinchillas (breeding age, unrelated)
Zinc - buck. He has a great, relaxed temperament.
Rose - doe. Who is so sweet and rode home on my lap.

Satins (breeding age) Amy, and the buck still needing a name.
Both are Chinchilla-colored

This gives us a very promising base for both pure Giant Chinchilla development and Satin-based pelt projects with the Rex. Between the Giants’ size and calm temperament and the Satins’ silky coat genetics, 2026 just got a lot more interesting.

For rabbit folks keeping score at home - our current Standard Rex lineup includes:
1 Black doe, still needing a name
1 REW doe, Alice
1 Tort buck, Buggs
Our remaining Mini Rex will be staying long enough to raise their current litters, and then they’ll be moving on to new homes as we shift the rabbitry toward larger dual-purpose lines.

For now, everyone is settling in, enjoying hay, and wondering how many rabbits we’ll “accidentally” bring home the next time we leave the farm.
