Share & Pair Sunday, Spottswoode style!

This week, we’re gathering around a platter of slow-roasted wild salmon, warm tortillas, avocado crema, and bright pepper salad, perfectly paired with our Lyndenhurst Cabernet Sauvignon.

Wine has always had a beautiful way of turning a simple meal into something shared, memorable, and generous. Whether it’s an easy weeknight taco party or a long table in the garden, the best pairings are simply the ones that bring people together.

Uncork, pass the tortillas, pour all around, and let everyone build their own perfect bite.

Healthy wine starts with healthy soil. This week at Spottswoode, we’re soil sampling throughout the vineyard to better understand soil biology, nutrient balance, and overall vineyard health. Soil sampling is a small piece of our constant and dedicated effort to substantiate the way we farm’s beneficial influence on our local ecosystems. The data helps guide our farming decisions while supporting our Organic and Napa Green certification efforts — all part of caring for the land from the ground up.

Spring means digging up our Biodynamic Preparation 500 from its winter home beneath the vineyard soil. Buried in the fall and unearthed as the vines awaken.

The soil is crawling with rolly pollies, earthworms, and microbial life, all playing their part in building healthy soils, cycling nutrients, and supporting resilient vines. Next comes curing the preparation above ground and returning it to the vineyard floor in several months once the growing season concludes. This helps our soils rebuild and recovery after fruit ripening heading into winter dormancy.

Checked in on our guardian dogs out at our newly developed Knights Valley vineyard—patrolling rows, keeping wildlife in check, and taking their job very seriously. No timecards, no complaints, just loyal employees who work 24/7 to protect the vineyard and keep the ecosystem in balance.

They’re not just good dogs… they’re essential team members. 🌿

Our Navajo Churro sheep got their spa treatment this week. While they might not love the clippers, shearing is essential for their health and comfort. These sheep don’t naturally shed their wool, so shearing keeps them from becoming heavy, hot, and even attract parasites.

A good haircut keeps them cool, clean, and ready for another year grazing the vineyard and doing their important work in our regenerative system. Plus… they look pretty cute rocking the fresh buzz cut. 💇‍♀️🌿🐑

An unforgettable evening at Charlie’s in Saint Helena celebrating the connection between land, food, and wine.

Chef Elliot’s creativity honored the lives of the lambs raised on the Spottswoode estate with remarkable care and intention—each dish telling a story of respect and craft. From lamb tartare and ricotta agnolotti over lamb shank, to a beautifully prepared rack and leg of lamb, the menu reflected a deep appreciation for the whole animal and the farming that sustains it.

In a warm, communal setting, friends and neighbors gathered to share Spottswoode’s regenerative organic philosophy alongside current vintages of our Estate Cabernet, Lyndenhurst, Mary’s Block, and Sauvignon Blanc—ending with back vintages of Estate Cab from 2011 and 2016.

An evening rooted in community, stewardship, and the joy of bringing people together around the table.

PNV ‘26 | Organic Stewardship

Rain or shine, community always shows up.

Last Friday we welcomed friends, colleagues, and guests to Spottswoode for our Premiere Napa Valley open house celebrating Organic Stewardship. While the weather nudged us indoors, the spirit of the day remained rooted in what matters most—thoughtful farming, shared purpose, and the collective care of our land.

We are deeply grateful to the like-minded wineries who joined us to pour alongside our team, and to every guest who came to learn, taste, and connect. Your presence made the day meaningful, inspiring, and full of heart.

Here’s to stewardship, collaboration, and the Napa Valley community we’re proud to grow with.

We are honored to share that our Spottswoode Estate Cabernet Sauvignon was named one of ’s Top 10 Highest Rated Wines of 2025 — ranking #5 with a 95.1 community score.

To be included alongside legendary estates is deeply meaningful — especially because this recognition comes from the global community of collectors and wine lovers who open and share our wines at their own tables.

We are grateful to everyone who poured, cellared, and reviewed Spottswoode this year.

Rooted in the land. Shared around the world.

Cheers!
