Just opened a 2002 with a very spring dinner menu in mind. Love to see a cork this old in such good shape--we always spent almost as much as two buck chuck costs on the cork for each bottle. Lovely fruit still in balance with the oak and tannin. Great time to drink this vintage but it still has years left.

Dear Friends,

After thirty-six years on spring Mountain, we are moving on. We have raised two sons and six thousand grapevines, made wine for thirty-four years, and met more friends than we could have ever imagined.
Our property and wine are sold and we are retiring. We will not disappear, we are just moving on. We thank you, our customers, for supporting us all of these years, and hope to see many of you in the future.
This is a bittersweet moment for us, but time for the next step in our lives.

Wow, what an earthquake! We don't seem to have any damage, and all our neighbors seem fine. Even 20 miles south in Napa near the epicenter, there are no reported deaths, though a few people were hospitalized. This was really strong locally, it felt much stronger than the big 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake that hit south of San Jose.

All the vegees and fruits are looking great this year. Pumpkins, tomatoes, and corn in the vegetable garden, and our pride and joy, Cabernet Sauvignon in the vineyard. Harvest is right around the corner!
