Ballentine Vineyards Family-owned in Napa Valley since 1905, we have four generations of history. We farm 80 acres of vineyards and craft small-lot wines from our grapes.

Ballentine Vineyards stands among the rare Napa Valley wine brands, boasting an almost 120-year history, and is proudly family-owned and operated to this day. With a diverse range of wines, from refreshing and bright white wine to big, bold red wines, we strive to make the best quality wine every year for our customers who love approachable and delicious wine. Our winery is open for tastings Thursday - Monday, by appointment from 10am - 4pm. Guests can enjoy a relaxing experience overlooking our vineyard while tasting wine. We welcome all wine lovers from beginners to advanced to visit our St. Helena estate. Here are a few wines we make: Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Zinfandel, Merlot, Petite Sirah, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Fall might just be our favorite time of year in Napa Valley. 🍂🍷🎃

Harvest is winding down, the vineyards are beginning to change colors, the days are getting a little cooler—and our pumpkin patch is ready for picking.

After a busy grape harvest, we’re trading grape bins for pumpkins and enjoying one of the best seasons to visit w**e country. There’s something pretty special about sipping w**e among the vines while fall settles into the Napa Valley.

Come visit us, taste the new season in the cellar, and enjoy a little bit of fall at the w**ery.

Looking back on another harvest in the Napa Valley, it’s easy to see the finished w**es—but harder to see all the work that went into getting them there.

Harvest is early mornings and long days. It’s walking vineyards, tasting berries, watching the weather, cleaning equipment, moving bins, sorting fruit, making countless decisions, and doing it all again the next day.

For months, our vineyard and w**ery teams have poured an incredible amount of energy into this vintage. Every cluster that made its way into the cellar represents a season of farming, patience, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Now, as the pace finally begins to slow and the w**es settle into the cellar, we get a chance to look back and appreciate everything it took to get here.

Dirty boots. Tired hands. Long days. Great fruit. And another Napa Valley harvest in the books.

As harvest begins to wind down here in Napa Valley, the story of the vintage is becoming clear: small yields, intense fruit, and incredible concentration.

The crop may be lighter than usual, but what came into the w**ery was packed with character—beautiful color, concentrated flavors, and the kind of intensity that has us excited about what’s developing in the cellar.

After months of walking vineyards, watching the weather, tasting berries, and making picking decisions, there’s something special about seeing the last fruit come through the w**ery doors.

Less fruit. More intensity. And a vintage we can’t wait to follow from barrel to bottle.

The days are getting a little shorter, but patio season isn’t over yet. 🍷☀️

There’s something about a Napa Valley afternoon this time of year. Warm sunshine, a little breeze, vineyard views and a glass of something refreshing in hand.

Pour a chilled Ballentine Chenin Blanc, Rosé or Sparkling Malvasia Bianca and settle in for those last long afternoons outside. Because we’re not quite ready to say goodbye to summer just yet. 😉

We harvested our Malvasia Bianca last week. Our favorite grape to eat on the property, it’s always a little sad when we pick it and no longer have our favorite tasting room snack.

On a side note. We changed pruning on the younger block this year, with the goal of letting a little more fruit hang. Yields have been low in various years. It worked. We had a bountiful 2026 crop and it looked wonderful.
