In my glass tonite! 2021 Beaulieu Vineyard Reserve Malbec. This elegant and well-balanced Malbec exhibits a violet-red hue with intense aromas of blueberry pie, sweet vanilla, pie crust, ripe cherries, and hints of violet. On the palate, it offers bold flavors of raspberry jam, licorice, nutmeg, and notes of freshly crushed white peppercorns. Today, we enjoyed this w**e with my homemade meal of American Wagyu rib-eye steak, sautéed broccolini, and sautéed crimini mushrooms. In my glass Tonite! MERRY EDWARDS 2022 Coopersmith Vineyard Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley, Sonoma County, CA. This well-crafted Pinot Noir shows a light ruby-red color and aromas of ripe cherries, rose petals, nutmeg, and tomato leaf. On the palate, this w**e offers flavors of red cherries, cranberries, pistachio, and hints of allspice. We enjoyed this elegant Pinot Noir with our home-cooked dinner of boneless pork chops, roasted peperoncini peppers, and a mustard greens salad with walnuts, cranberries, and croutons.

In my glass tonight! 2021 Bokisch Tempranillo, Liberty Oaks Vineyard, Jahant, Lodi, CA. This joyful Tempranillo, made with Estate-grown grapes, shows an intense ruby-red color. This w**e expresses aromas of ripe figs, dried cranberries, toasted cardamom, and cedar. On the palate, this elegant Tempranillo delights you with blackberry, nutmeg, dried rosemary, and hints of Cubanelle pepper.

In my glass last night! 2017 Campo Viejo Reserva.

I bought this bottle on my last trip to Puerto Rico in December 2024 and aged it in my CA cellar. This Campo Viejo Reserva is a classic Rioja Tempranillo, blended with small amounts of Graciano and Mazuelo. This w**e is showing a red-brick color. This Tempranillo shows aromas of dried cranberries, to***co, leather, and hints of dark pepper. On the palate, it offers flavors of dark berry pie, baking spices, cocoa powder, and ripe figs. We enjoyed this flavorful Tempranillo with our home-cooked dinner of Bison ribeye, topped with sauteé crimini mushrooms and a side of tostones. We had a delightful food-and-w**e moment. Salud🍷 **e

In my glass TONITE! 2021 Zeitlos Riesling. Thanks to our dear friend Judy for sharing this exquisite w**e with us. This Riesling shows a light straw color with intense aromas of Granny Smith apple, lemongrass, ripe peach, and notes of honeysuckle and passion fruit. On the palate, this w**e feels bright and dry with pleasant acidity and flavors of tart green apple, Meyer lemon, and hints of sage and ripe pears. In my glass tonite! 2017 Bien Nacido Vineyard, Au Bon Climat, Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir. This elegant Pinot Noir shows a light ruby-red color and expressive aromas of ripe red cherries, freshly picked sage, tomato leaf, and nutmeg. In my glass last night: 2022 Goosecross Tempranillo. It shows aromas of ripe red berries, blueberries, sweet vanilla, and hints of cedar, tomato leaf, and dried rosemary. On the palate, this w**e feels fresh with pleasant acidity and silky tannins. You can enjoy flavors of cranberries, pluots, and gooseberries with hints of cardamom and vanilla. In my glass a couple of days ago, 2019 Crianza, Faustino Rivero Ulecio, DO Navarra, Spain. The grapes for this w**e grow in the Ribera Baja sub-zone, between 650 and 1,300 feet in elevation. The soil in this region of the Navarra DO contains more sand than chalk or gravel. Vinification: Grapes are destemmed and partially crushed, with a high proportion of whole berries, and undergo 20 to 15 days of maceration. This Tempranillo-Merlot blend ages for 12 months in American oak barrels. This w**e shows a red cherry color and expresses aromas of ripe red berries, vanilla, and cinnamon, with floral and underbrush undertones. On the palate, this w**e shows generous tannins and intense strawberry, raspberry, and plum flavors with hints of sweet baking spices and toasty wood. We enjoyed this w**e with the 3, 2, 1 baby back ribs cooked on the Traeger Grills.
